Town of Markham Council established the Golden Jubilee Committee of Markham to coordinate Markham activities celebrating the Queen's Golden Jubilee. |
Her Majesty visited Toronto on 9 October 2002, where she met representatives from Markham. |
She viewed a display representing a new "Golden Jubilee" pathway to be opened in the Cornell area of Markham.

Events will be held throughout the year. |
On 5 October, at the Markham Fairgrounds, there was a spectacular show: a military Tattoo featuring bands, helicopters, and special performances of all sorts

The Tattoo is in honour of the Golden Jubilee, and will surely be the highlight of Markham Fair this year. |

On 6 October 2002, 4:30 p.m. Holy Trinity Church in Thornhill (Brooke Street is west of Yonge Street, off Centre Street in Thornhill) |
An Anglican service of evensong, including hymns connected to the life and work of Queen Elizabeth, offered in thanks-giving for her reign of 50 years. Bring neighbours & friends! |

The Thornhill Festival ran 21 September 2002, with a parade starting at Noon. |
The "Queen" was there to open events, and spend the day with visitors.

The Milliken Children's Festival happened 7 September 2002. It was a great success!

The Golden Jubilee Committee is an active participant. |
